Counselling

Counselling Therapists are Masters Level therapists and registered with the Association of Counselling Therapists of Alberta. Couselling Therapists generally have the same or similar levels of education as psychologists, but focus exclusively on the counselling side of the relationship. Counselling Therapists do not perform formal assessment.


Provisionally Registered Psychology

A Provisional Psychologist is a masters or doctoral level therapist and is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. They hold all the privileges of a fully registered psychologist, however they must practice under the supervision of a clinical supervisor (Registered psychologist with at least 5 years of practice experience). A Provisional Psychologist is a masters or doctoral level therapist and is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. They hold all the privileges of a fully registered psychologist, however they must practice under the supervision of a clinical supervisor (Registered psychologist with at least 5 years of practice experience). Provisional Psychologists must work towards a set number of supervised hours of practice in their defined area of psychology, and work towards completing two exams (LEAP and EPPP) in order to complete their provisional period.
